Is anyone else that uses hotmail having problems logging in with OE or on the MSN web site? (I hope this is the right place to post this here.)

I have always had sporadic problems accessing Hotmail. I'm fairly sure Microsoft performs maintenance around the clock on all of the Hotmail servers, and if they happen to be performing maintenance work on the server that holds your e-mail account, you will be unable to access it for a little while.

Does that answer your question? Or is your problem different than the one documented above?

notageek,

I read about these problems a lot. If it worked yesterday, big chance it will work again tomorrow. If not, we will have to look into it, but most of the time it´s like javacool says:
temporary troubles with the server.

Hi guys

I have always had problems with msn hotmail account. But since I found "Spyblocker" for a tool for better access I have got no major problems. Weird eh ? What hostile data might msn hide ?

by the way I just went unjoining msn communities because they use to publish email addresses; I had a problem to sign in with Opera browser. I had to enable all cookies and tell it to accept all cookies especially from msn. After that maneuver no problems.

I only use my hotmail account to register at websites.
All I have to do is delete about 80 spam-mails per day from the server. Good fun :D

Hotmail is "hot" alright! It's hot for spam! The free e-mail service brought to you by MSN,the More Spam Network.I'm happy that Mailwasher works on that account!

When I start OE it checks all my email accounts and when it's done I get an error message that says: unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. I'm sure it's on the MSN end of the deal.

As for Hotmail spam, I am the lucky one. I get about 2 or 3 spam a week. Mainly how to make money and get out of debt spam. But when it comes to Yahoo email I get all kinds of spam. i get about 100 or so a week. lol...

Everyone have a nice evening. :)

hotmail sometimes gives me problems in their web interface. i can log in using something like mailwasher (i don't use outlook or anything like that, but maybe it would work also), but it sometimes refuses to process my login info at the webpage. it's very strange indeed.

Well for some odd reason when I use proxo I can't get my Hotmail from OE or the web site. I use bypass on proxo last night and everything is fine. I closed down proxo and set my IE up as normal and everything is fine. I go and start proxo and set mt IE up for proxo and no go. I find this odd. Anyone know of anyway to fix this?

Acessing hotmail or msn webmail directly would mean having to lower my security settings to much for my liking.
Instead, i use Mailwasher and Web2Pop(not free) to check webmail accounts.
Same goes with my emailer (Becky) which i also use in conjunction with Web2Pop and Nod 32 for pop3.

This means i never have to go to Hotmail or MSN websites or even Yahoo for that matter to retrieve mail, which most of it is garbage anyway.

Mailwasher won't work when I'm using proxo either.

I might have put a check mark in a box that I shouldn't. Have to try to figure it out.
