What controls Most Frequently Used Programs List?

Which of the MRU Blaster settings turns the "most frequently used programs section" of the Windows XP start menu off or on? I would prefer to keep this list active.

XP stores the list of most recently used programs in the UserAssist data area of the registry.

I ran Blaster and now all my Frequently Used Applications are gone. I wasn't savvy about unchecking that. How do I get them back? I paniced and uninstalled and restarted. No apps. Will they come back on their own or do I need to do something?
