Hello,

first of all i was very lucky to find a program like DOC Scrubber because
in these days, big BROTHER (Microsoft) is watching you and everyone can
read personal data, if not removed with care....one other
example are the temporary IE-5 dat files in user accounts!

Well, i have tested DOC Scrubber and i can say, its a easy to please
and a good program!

But.....it seems not to delete/scrubb the "last saved user" in Word 2000 (Win2k) docs. This is what i have done:
My word document (fast saved option disabled) is saved in Word 2000
afterwards totaly (all options in doc scrubber enabled) scrubbed. I put
a write protect on my document after that cleaning and opened it again
in Word.....Ohhhhaaaa, "Last saved user is " +nobody+ is still namend in
the statistic menue. How could?! In Doc Scrubber everything seems to
be deleted! I also opened a doc of Firtz! ISDN software (AVI) in which everything is removed, how did they do it?

tried something else...
In Word/Extras/Options/User information i deleted the line and
saved it again, now after re-opening and saving "Administrator" appears
in the "Last saved user is" line....what the he-x- is Word doing?

can somebody help me concerning these mysteries?

greetings
Mad ???

Hello Mad Calerham,

Welcome to Wilders!!!

I am moving your thread from the General Topics forum (which has to do with board related issues) to SpywareBlaster & Other Forum where it will get the proper attention.

Hi,

Could you please send me a copy of a .doc file that exhibits this behavior? (The problem with DocScrubber cleaning the "last saved by" item.)

E-mail address: bugreports@javacoolsoftware.com

[Any and all information will remain strictly confidential - the doc file will only be used to duplicate the error, if possible, and to help develop a workaround.]

I'll take a look as soon as I can. Thanks! :)

Hi Mad Calerham,

I received you PM and decided to post back to you thread instead of PM'ing you back.

I am sure javacool has probably received your bug report ans is evaluating it as we speak. However please take the following into consideration:
javacool provides all of his software free of charge. This includes all updates and support issues. He is a very busy man trying to keep his software up to date and handling support issues. Doc scrubber is not on his priority list but I am sure as soon as he is able he will take care of your bug report. Just have a little patience and realize that it is only him working on javacool products.

HTH...

Hi,

Have you solved the problem? The "last saved by" is still viewable. Hope you have already solved it. Do you know if there is a similar software like the doc scrubber for excel.

Thanks,
bilgin

Dear Bilgim,

thats the problem...there is none! You can solve it temporary in deleting
the ID information in Word until next release comes out. Just jump to
options/user information/and than type Alt-032 for "free space" to delete
a visible letter in all lines. Than save the document and use Doc Scrubber
to delete the rest on information...

hope that helps

sincerely

Dear Javacool,

some weeks ago i contacted you because of Doc
Scrubbers v1.1 not completely removed user info.
Did you had time looking and fixing it?

sincerely
