View Full Version : WEBSITE NOT FOUND - SPYWARE BLOCK?

Trying to get on several websites related to spyware detection and removal and a lot of them are not found despite my IP being able to get on. I've tried to repair the windows installation and I've run Ad-aware and spybot to clean up my system. I've also bypassed my router and uninstalled my virus protection and firewall just to make sure that wasn't it.

My IP suggested I may have some malware blocking those type of sites because it appears to be real specific. All other websites seem to work fine.

I would like to download spyblaster but that is one of the websites blocked. How do I fix this or am I doomed to reinstall windows after a reformat of the hard drive?

Hi Dave....welcome to forum :)

Yes, that could be the case, some malware can block sites... in the HOSTS files...is an area. :(

GO HERE (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=48890)
and read my posts on the HOSTS files, see if any site may be blocked via that.

Cheers, TAS
