View Full Version : PE does not accept the Unlock Code

This may or not be related to another question/post I have here titled Members Area - PE Download, http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=48727. There appears to be a problem, at least on my system which is a first when installing a DCS product. I downloaded it from the Members Area, uninstalled 1.8, re-booted and proceded to install 2.0. Everything went as expected until I get to the point of entering the unlock code, at that time I get an error dialog box and the code will not be accepted by PE. (see the attached screenshot PE Unlock Code Error.gif) Could this be caused by the file available for download is pedemosetup.exe?

Hi Disciple, The demo is updated to the full version on adding the unlock code.
Do you have an alternative browser that you could try?
I simply cut and pasted the code into the PE code box and restarted PE.

Hopefully this will be resolved when Perth wakes up, Wayne did mention in another thread that there had been a couple of gremlins in the works :)

I thought I saw a post that said there was some sort of a problem with the PG Unlock Code, but a search of the PG, and PE boards turned up nothing.

??? Hi Everyone. I just tried to install the new version 2 of port Explorer. I also get the error message, when I input my unlock code. I tried uninstalling/rebooting/installing/rebooting/ twice, to no avail. I wonder what is amiss. I'll check for news after a bit. Cheers! :)

waya, sorry to hear you are having the same problem. I just finished sending DCS an e-mail about this. Once they are in the office I am sure we will hear from them, and have a solution in hand. At least my install is running, even if is set to expire in 30 days.

Apologies for the problem - it seems to be caused by a few user details in the databases and will be fixed shortly. Anyone with a problem can email support and we will fix you up immediately with a code :)

;D Hi Gavin and Disciple, Guess what? I got mine fixed up. Apparently, I have two ways to log in to the Members area. If I use one way, I get an unlock code that doesn't work. If I use the other way, I get a valid code for both Process Guard and for Port Explorer. A TDS-3 icon is also available, though I don't need to update that one. I just uninstalled PE and PG and installed the newest versions of both, ie. (ver 2 and the beta version 3.) Both accepted their codes and are away to the races. I think that I must have used different e-mail addresses to buy some of the three Diamond programs that I have. Anyway, one of the e-mail and password combos takes me to a proper screen that shows all the software that I actually own. I have duly noted the proper credentials to use. Phew! A big congratulations on all the relentless work, fellas! Tonight I sleep good. ciao 4 nao.

Yes we are currently fixing up people who have registered with different emails for different products. Due to the amount of registered users we have, we simple can't use the name of people as a unique identifier, since we have so many duplicate names. So we use the email address, and the people who have either changed their email or registered products with different emails are the ones who are having this problem.

Yep I went from dialup to DSL, and changed mine at that time to stop/cut down the amout of SPAM I was getting at that time. I will e-main the details. Thank you.

what the hell i just dowenloaded it and installed it put the lame ass unlock code which by the way i cant understand for the life of me how that could be an unlock code
did you guys screw up this cant be right says my unlock code is 0 thats it

OK, here goes:
As far as I remember I bought Port Explorer for you somewhere in the past.
I have to try to dig the emails up in the archive.
Maybe you and me and Gavin/Jason have to solve this in private.
Maybe the DCS guys need to make a fix in this situation.
Are you OK that we try to solve this in private? ;)

FYI - I tried: Uninstalling, removing all traces of PE from the registry, downloaded a new copy of PE 2.0, installing and entering the Unlock Code.

yup at 2 am or so i jason went out of his way to send me an unlock code but sadly that one didnt work i e-maild him a picture of the unlock code not working

day 17 no unlock code
wondering if i been abandone in this thread
i have a beard now and my high gen is bad
days with out rest hopeing some dcsmember will see my sighn in the sand
day 18 no sighn of dcs starveing now am weak but i shall go on today i thought i saw a dcs member but befor i could get the bond fire lit he loged off
day 19 i have gone i think mad and have begun to talk to the port explorer box i feel its laughing at me since the evalluation countdowen is almost expired
day 20th i see jooskey loged on but i know she cant help me with this problem but still hugs

Seems your unlock code was cut off shortly, it should be fixed in an hour or so.

that ok after doing programing for my dads buisness in makeing company cd's over 300 cd's i realize your guys jobs is no way easy
remember the line to know some one is to walk in there shoes type thing
for last few days i been makeing cd's till 2am in the morning it sucks
i had hang ups with ulead softwear bugs in there software and damn winow blank pop up everytime i stick in a blank cd to burn it slows me dowen
i cant even imagine what you guys go threw
im no longher ever going to bug you guys for wheres the next verstion
cause i know how it feel when my dad buged me for more cd's or menue changes or asking for stuff on the cd that just couldnt be done
so immmm so sorry for naging you guys
but there is one comment i will make my last one when concerning dcs products
i think all your dcs programers should concentrate at one program at a time
i know you guys woirk on many diffrent things at one time but i think if all you got together on one thing and thats it till it got done it be better
at least thats what i think is going on with you guys
to many demands on all applications and there only so many of you
i love your products

Mmm...Two different unlock codes tried (curtesy of DCS), and still i get "error" .Wish id left it at previous version now ..Grrr.

Did you after installing Port Explorer reboot your system?
I first installed Port Exoplorer, opened it without reboot, pasted in the key, restarted Port Explorer and it was told to be not registered, rebooted and all was fine. so please don't forget that reboot step. It is in the installation procedure, but of course i didn't want to reboot the system and get back into the members area to pick it up, so i chose first not to reboot till i had pasted in that code.
But don't forget that necessary reboot afterwards.
Could this help?
BTW: i did not get an error message, only when i looked in the about my version was not registered yet till that reboot.

Well dcs has come good for me today with an unlock key that works...about 200 characters more than the first two :)

Try re-entering it carefully, make sure the whole key gets copied. Or try uninstalling and reinstalling if you still dont get it working
If your code starts with PS and ends in PE, it WILL work. If not, let us know by email please

Well, I got my unlock code, but at the time I didn't re-download the new version of PE (I think I was using the other browser or something...and went back with IE instead to download it.)
But...for some reason, I can't download PE now from the members area. :-\
It shows me the downloaded products I've purchased (well, it doesn't show TDS-3 though, which is odd) and to click on any of the links there to download the full version of PE, and after I click on Port Explorer the 'opening page' bar at the bottom of IE goes so slow, and at the half-way mark just hangs there. I've waited 5 min and still it won't finish. Nothing happens. Then I click to log out, and still the page hangs. I have to just end up closing IE to cancel it all.
So I'm not sure what to do now. LOL I have my unlock code but no new version of PE to use on. :) Can I just download it on the regular download site...will it make any difference? I have not uninstalled the previous version so I'm not in any hurry...but it would be nice to have the newer verison. ;D

I used Opera and I could download PE without any problems. Not sure why I couldn't with IE6 as I had it's settings to default, but must be a setting somewhere that I must have changed?
Anyways...uninstalled the older version, rebooted, NOD32 hung at the splash screen though, and Sygate didn't load...so I rebooted again and everything loaded fine.
Installed PE v.2.00 and entered the code - that worked great! ;D
Rebooted and Sygate loaded fine but NOD32 hung on the splash screen again. So rebooted again, and everything loaded great and all is working fine.
Amazing what a few reboots can do. ;D

Hi Snap, NOD32 has a built in LSP fix mode I think which must enumerate other lsp programs in some way correcting any problem after a reboot or two.
I noticed it on my Windows 2003 server which has NOD32.

Hi Pilli,
I did expect a li'l struggle with NOD and Sygate given the kind of programs they are, but I would only have had a bit of a concern if things didn't load smoothly after the 2nd reboot, which of course they did. I was more worried that the code might not work...LOL I checked too that it started with PS and ended with PE, so when PE opened and showed registered <-- nothing could take the smyle off my face then! ;D
