i'm so excited..........sept. 16 i golfed one of the harder courses in my area....
i just recently took up the game this yr (aside from the yearly work tourny, i may have golfed 2x yr previous)
about 15mph winds, my tee shot on a par 5 went left into the first cut of rough........leaving me with 240 uphill. i grab up the 3 wood and gave her a swat....it started off straight, landing short and rolling up on the green, needless to say i was happy to be putting for eagle and all but gauranteed a birdie, but i was watching the ball roll right down the slope toward the pin.......rolling...........rolling, then i couldn't see the ball....i'm laughing thinking "that didn't just go in", my partner said "i think it ran in the hole" while the other 2 didn't watch as i was far away./...
well, i get up on the green and sure enough...........it was in!!!!!!!!! the other 2 guys we were paired up with were the ones checking in the hole and grabbed the ball saying" is this really your shot form back there??? in disbelief..
apparently the odds ar 6 million to 1 at getting a double eagle, my friend said they are better than a hole in one......if yoiu think about they are.. (unless yoiu hole in one a par 4, i have drove the green on a par 4 330+ yrds, but never holed...............maybe i shall try that in the next few yrs)
double eagle or albatross
needless to say i am pretty happy and shot my best round to date in the 70's
it could have been a 2 under par day had i golfed more than 1 or 2 times a month..
just thought i'd share, thanks
