About a week I downloaded the Safe XP but only run the executable without making any changes with him...
I don't like McAfee...
This is the processes that I have when restart/shutdown: (the "HprSnap5.exe" and "procexp.exe" doesn't count...)

The reason I ask about mcafee and safe xp is that mcafee caused a long shutdown on my xp comp. and that safe xp has an option to clear page file at shut down. That can cause a long shutdown time. If the box is checked try it unchecked and see if that helps. let me know what happens. As for your processes list I am not sure which one might be causing the problem. I thought we might try the easy ones first.

Thanks bigc ;)
I use the XP-AntiSpy (http://www.xp-antispy.org/) and always have that option disable, but I don't know how, it was enable :(
Now it seems that the restart/shutdown works fine :P

It seems that xp-AntiSpy have some bugs.
Sometimes he didn't stay with the seetings that I choose, and have an option that do the opposite...
Do you are satisfied with SafeXP?

I really like safe xp. It seems to be a very stable little app.

If you enable "Verbose status messages" in XP's Computer Management tool, you should be able to see the event(s) causing slow shutdowns.

Try Start/Run and execute gpedit.msc. I customized my Computer Management by first running it "author mode" (Start/Run and execute compmgmt.msc /a). When it opens, go File and select Add/Remove Snap-in. Click Add, then choose the Group Policy snap-in and select Local Computer when prompted. Save changes and exit. Now run Computer Management as you normally would and you will have the Local Security Policy snap-in.
