I'm always glad to see mainstream media report on encryption issues. Especially, when they do it in a consumer-friendly style that encourages the use of data encryption software. The NY Times has this article today titled, "Protecting Your Files When a Password Isn't Enough"....

I have to wonder about XP and encryption. I use a small encryption program for sensitive files. But, what's in system restore? The original along with the encrypted version?
Seems to me you should have your working disk as an encrypted area apart from your operating system.

Thanks, Luv. :D I would love to read the article, but the last thing I'm going to do is register for the NY Times. ::)

If you had Firefox, you could use the "Bug me not " extension to log in for you.
Not with your info of course.

Thanks everyone. That's a very neat site! :D It's in my favorites now.
Unfortunately, the NY Times site now says I need to enable cookies. Now I could do that, and then simply delete them afterwards, but it's just now worth the trouble, especially for that sorry excuse for a newspaper.

I'd tell you, but then I would get to rambling and very OT, and then get yelled at by the nice moderators here. I want to keep them on my good side. ;D

. <-QUOTE}Hey...good article John. I'm in agreement with you about making encryption appealing enough to want to use regularly. I've pretty much dropped the subject with most people I know because they get confused and don't think they need it at all! :o ???
