It's here. :) As always, with any new release you'll need to wait for the mirrors to be updated. (For those that are using the free version).

It is best to but if you don't it isn't a big problem. The new installer will check for previous/other version of Ad-aware, if found any it will give you the option to remove it or leave it.

This part of the new version might alarm you the first time you run it:
Virus warnings while performing a scan with Ad-Aware
While performing a scan with Ad-Aware, a background antivirus monitor may issue an alert, stating that a virus has been found in the temporary directory (%temp%) for the current user. This does not necessarily mean your computer has been infected with an active virus.
Most antivirus resident scanners will not scan compressed files and only monitor your memory for the sign of an active viral process. During a scan, Ad-Aware will temporarily decompress files to scan their contents without activating the content, but in doing so, the file is noticed by the antivirus' resident scanner. Also, some antivirus applications include an option to quarantine infected files, and when Ad-Aware decompresses these quarantined files, the antivirus background scanner detects the virus moving outside the quarantine area. To avoid this you can either remove the quarantined files via your antivirus application, or have Ad-Aware ignore the antivirus program's quarantine folders/files during a scan.

SO is it worth getting the Plus version? i think resident monitor is very good but how much ram and resources does it take? In Professional version it even add trojen detection.
So how much of a different is PLus and Pro. .......?

FYI. There is a new Definition File Notification newsletter system. For those that want to sign up, here is the new link:
http://www.lavasoftnews.com/cgi-bin/mojo/mojo.cgi?f=list&l=dfnotify
As with the previous system, it is sent in plain text and contains the new definitions file update information.

Hi iwod.... I have had PLUS version now for a loooong time.....
The PRO version only came out about 12months or less so ago, and I never upgraded to it. If I was starting out fresh and did not have what I do know in terms of Spyware detection I would go for PRO, but cannot vouch personally for it.
Also I cannot answer what the difference is, but I am sure if you vist the home page on one link I gave above, then click on each version and see what the featurs are, you will get an overview.
AdWatch useage?
Decide for yourself, see pic. :)
TAS
edit: ooops, cut off headers, just so you know what you are looking at, the first useage is the Memory Useage, the second higher reading, is the Peak Memory Useage, when it 'peaks' as in using Memory and this was I just started it.

I wonder if it can remove the KAV5 alternate data streams?

"streams -s -d C:\" from the command line should to the trick.

Same here. I just checked my mail box, no notice. I assume we will not be forced to spend $26 plus to get the new build with Adwatch. It would appear you folks do not think so. I also assume no more updates for 6 plus to come.
