Windows Update problems

When I try to run Windows Update, after the percent loads when you click scan for updates, it says Windows Update has found 21 critical updates for your computer, then at the bottom of the screen it says: An error occurred while scanning for driver updates. We are not able to display any updated drivers for your system.

What is there I can do about this??

do not attempt to download updates all at once. 2 or 3 at a time to avoid problems. see if it helps.
