Hi,

I've just started using the latest version of Spyware blaster, and was shocked at all of the porn that was on my pc!!! Now I have got a bigger-than-it-should-be phone bill, and I'm wondering if it was one of the dialers that was on there?

I took a snapshot of it, is there a way to print it?

I may need it for the phone CO.

The way you worded this first line made me wonder if you thought that the list of items in SpywareBlaster was a list of hijacks, spyware and dialers on your system. Just in case that's what you were thinking, SpywareBlaster's main display shows the items it protects against, not the items found on your system. As I said, I just want to be sure that that was clear first thing...

If you have a screen image of it, you can post it here in a reply. Each reply posting can display a single image file (.GIF or .JPG preferred and less than 100KB in size).

When you make a reply, look below the Message window (see image I attached below) where it shows: "Additional Options" and below that: "Attach Files". Hit the "Manage Attachments" button and a new browser window should open and provide you with a line to attach a single file. (In the new windows that pops up will be a "Browse..." button to locate the file you want to attach and then you hit its "Upload" button.)

HI Ruth....

by your wording, it sounds like you mean what you see in SWB... those are NOT loaded on your system.

They ARE however, sites, "killbits" etc. set into your registry/restricted zone which BLOCKS those very sites from installing stuff on your system.

Here is pic of SWB sites set in Restriicted zone in IE, they are there to protect YOU.

I hope this is what you were referring to.

edit again: Also, just so you are clear on SWB's role. It is not a scanner, it sets those "killbit" in the Registry and loads sites in restricted zone for your protection. It does NOT have to be running, only have to check for weekly updates, then re-enable all protection if you get any updates, then simply close the program until next update check.

I ran across this app at SecurityFocus: ModemWall (http://www.modemwall.com/ModemWall.htm). I'm on cable, so I haven't tried it, but it may be useful in logging unauthorized dialing.
