I just want to call the company up for a trial and see if it can recover some of the data by cyberscrubb. :)

So what is the best software?

Hi tempnexus,

I have only tried Lost & Found by PowerQuest. It is more of a HD recovery tool than forensics. It is very slow, DOS, outdated, hasn't been updated in ages, but it actually worked for recovering some data.

Here are a couple of links for real forensics:

Access Data (http://www.accessdata.com/)

Encase Review (http://www.tomshardware.com/business/20040722/index.html)

They are very pricey, but they can do amazing things.

@ tempnexus , though I'm not familiar with this (http://www.grc.com/default.htm) myself, Mr. Gibson has a reputation for building small, but powerful apps.

Can you say "BLING, BLING?"

Here is a link from the makers of WinHex. It's a nice package.
