when i have a file thats being downloaded, HTTP Scanner scans it first by downloading it, but after its downloaded, i still have 2 download it from the site, so im in sense downloading the same file twice, is this whats happening or am i not "getting it" ?

This is not the case, the file is being scanned as it comes into your PC, as it is being downloaded through Nod32.

just wondering, would it be possible 2 set HTTP monitor up 2 scan the port MSN Messenger uses 2 send file transfers? so i dont have 2 run the nod32 scan everytime i recieve a file?

Also: anyone know what port it uses lol

Not sure if it will work or not, you'll have to wait for a Eset Mod to come along...

is what i have now for ports 2 be scanned, but the file doesnt showup as being scanned, ill wait for a mod or someone 2 answer like u said :)

It is >>HTTP<< scanner, it scans HTTP-protocol transfers. Not FTP, P2P etc...

i know its HTTP, but since it allows u 2 specify a port, i thought i could specify the MSN Messenger ports & have it scan the sameway

Given that MSN probably does not communicate through HTTP, IMON cannot check it.

Anyway AMON scan all files that you receive using AH and runtime packers.
If you want extra protection, you can specify in MSN 6.0 and above that when you receive a file, MSN automatically launch a scanner and analyze this. You need to point to nod32.exe and use command lines like: /ah /pack+ /mem- /all , etc. In the help, you can find more command line to enhance NOD protection.
