Why do I get this error if trying to start NOD32 control center from start/programs?

Mele,
try downloading this file (http://eset.zftp.com/nod32krn.reg), importing it to the registry and rebooting the machine. Pls let me know whether the problem goes away or not.

Firefox didn't have the vaguest idea what to do with that file. :( I had to use IE. I merged it to the registry and then I uninstalled the release NOD32 (which I had installed again) and tried to install the beta. I got the same errors that I got the first time I tried to install. I think though it has installed but I haven't yet rebooted to make sure. The errors stop W98SE from automatically rebooting.

Despite the invalid page fault error, NOD32 did install. The registry file worked. I had no error when trying to open NOD32 Control Center from Start/programs. Thanks!

Good to see Mele. So how are you finding the Beta on this machine?
Cheers ;D

Not so good. Just now I noticed that my monitor had not turned off. So I right clicked on the desktop so I could get into Display Properties and reset the time for when the monitor should turn off. I could not get the popup menu. A flash and it was gone. I then tried Start and I was going to reboot and could not get the start menu to open. I also tried to open Windows Explorer and could not (this is third time I have been unable to open Explorer when this beta NOD32 Control Center is running). So, I then closed the Control Center and I could immediately get a right click menu on the desktop, could use the Start menu and could start Explorer.
There are a lot of small things that are now causing problems that I am reasonably sure are due to this Beta. It doesn't seem particularly stable and it is unpredictable. Things go along smoothly for a while and then wham! I can't open Explorer or the program I have on both my computers that hides desktop icons and does other things too, suddenly won't work. If I close NOD32 Control Center then everything works usually. Plus, when I had the release on that box again tonite for awhile, everything semmed to work better.
I'll have to try and use that box more so I can see better where the problems are and if they can be reproduced or are just random. That box is in my bedroom and not on a desk and is awkward to use. I can't find a desk that will fit in the small space so I haven't used it a lot recently but will try to use it more to see how the beta does.

Mele,
pls create and send me a hijackthis (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/supportfiles/HijackThis1977.exe) log so that I can see what programs are running on your machine. So far, you've been the only one in the world to have reported such problems so I don't assume it's a general problem of the beta itself.

I didn't mean to imply that I was sure it was a problem with the beta. This is an old install of W98SE (been running about 4 years now). I'm not seeing the problems today. I need to use this box more regularly to have an idea of exactly what the problems are. If this was my only box it would be different. Maybe this box is finally getting quirky. :)
The install errors that I posted should be fixed though because that may be confusing to others and those happened on two different installs of this beta. They don't prevent proper installation but still shouldn't be popping up and do prevent automatic rebooting to finish the installation.
