In Need of a Good Ad/Pop-up Blocker

I am trying to find a good ad/pop-up blocker. My trial version of AdsGone has just expired and I'm in need of another good program similar to AdsGone. I really liked AdsGone because it has MANY options (i.e. black/white lists; run/not run on Startup; download updates; always in taskbar; and so much more!).
I would love to be able to pay for the full version, but that's just not an option right now. :( It would be great if I could find a completely free one, but I won't be too picky at this point.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

P.S. I have already tried 'CleanMyPC' and 'PopUpStopper', and I really don't like either.

How about PanicWare's - Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition ... Available Here from Panicware (http://www.panicware.com/product_downloads.html) here's DL page for the Free Edition (http://www.panicware.com/product_psfree.html) ... or switching your browser to either Firefox or Opera ... which both include popup blockers ... M$ SP2's IE upgrade will also come with a built in popup block ... due in August :)

I agree. I use the one in the google toolbar and it works fine for me. That and tightening the settings on your firewall should help.

Google's toolbar is very useful, in many ways. The popupblocker is definately
one of them! There's a couple of popuptypes it doesn't kill, but no other freeware does either.

I went to the 12-ghosts homepage to download the program. All I found was something called "SuperGee". Is that, in fact, the 12-ghosts pop-up killer you're talking about?

I use Avant Browser as IE shell, it includes a Pop-up blocker, and I use HOSTS file method for ad-blocking.

Apparently, 12Ghosts has changed things a bit. Downloading SuperGee, though, will get you the popup blocker. I cannot vouch for the efficacy of their other programs, however, as I haven't tried them.

Ad Muncher. Works with everything (i.e., IE, Firefox, Mozilla, FeedDemon) and any other program that connects with the internet. Light on resources, and you can tweak it to suite your needs.

Your Welcome mismis29! By now you've been trying it for awhile. I haven't noticed Any ads asking me to buy it. I wonder how they keep it running if they don't ask for donations even. I guess they make a profit off of selling other programs!
Yes, I know, more and More programs, when you download them they decieve you into thinking they are free and then when you've downloaded them - you find out they are NOT Free. We know that gets pretty irksome after awhile! THANK, literally GOD, that now I am knowledgeable to know what security programs etc. etc., that I need and I don't have to keep endlessly downloading way too many, just to find out you have to buy them - free trial means Just That - to try it for a certain no. of days!
I just came across a Free proxy Popup Stopper. The owner asks that you donate. I don't go by looks, but I read it and I haven't downloaded it(I'm still using Gogo Data right now) and it seems pretty good! Heres the link(its not AdMuncher its AdCruncher): :P

Windows XP SP 2 has a world class popup blocker. Much better than many of the stuff posted in this thread IMHO.

Can someone please tell me why I can't get it? Is it not available for XP Professional?

In your opinion, should I wait for SP2 to come to Windows update, or should I go ahead and download it from the link now? It seems that that download is intended for IT professionals and developers who are downloading on multiple computers.
