Love the retro styling of the 05 Stang ... The new shorter, narrower Vette looks really sleek ... kind of euro looking ... The 300M to me screams 70's muscle car ... and what can you say about the GT 40 ... pure classic

A lot of retro in the Chrysler and Mustang. A Corvette will always be a Corvette, fun to own. The GT is too much for me.

... I really like the 300's styling has that retro street rod look ... chopped top ... wide stance ... and you can even get it with a hemi .... Vrrrrrmmmmmm ;D ... if I ever decided to switch from Trucks & Vans ... This would defintely be the sedan I'd look at ... unless of course it became so popular and was absolutely every where. But I've always got a spot for a sports car in the driveway ... hmmm I wouldn't mind owning every version of both the Stangs and Vettes.

Anybody agree with me:-best looking and meanest car ever the original Shelby Cobra 427(over here in blighty we referred to them as the AC Cobra 427 cos they provided the body)I'm old enough to remember the original road tests and nothing since(inc McLaren F1!)has given such a leap forward in performance:- road testers words (when comparing it to a Ferrari,Daytona I think)was they may as well compare the Ferrari to a Phantom jet fighter as to the Cobra as ther was such difference!

I like the sports cars too, but check out this dream machine: ;D
http://www.theaircar.com/
I know it's goofy looking, but it is only their first model.
It runs on compressed air and it costs about $4,000 US.
Imagine, no gas needed, zero pollution, and no more oil dependencies on other countries.
As I have my own never ending supply of hot air, I'd be set. :)
It is available in France. If it were available in the US today, I would buy one.
Hopefully, the oil and car lobbies don't throw up so many obstacles that it doesn't get here. :-\

Step in my Rocket and-a don't be late,
We're pullin' out about a half-past-eight.
Goin' on the corner and-a havin' some fun,
Takin' my Rocket on a long, hot run.
Ooh, goin' out,
Oozin' and cruisin' along.
Now that you've ridden in my Rocket '88,

A little info
Under the long bonnet of the Vauxhall VX Lightning is a new version of Vauxhall's 2.2 Ecotec engine."
Yes, it's the same 240-horsepower supercharged Ecotec four used in the Solstice concept, but GM European brass reportedly wants a small V-8 under the Lightning's longish bonnet, making it the Vauxhall/Opel flagship. That's definitely not what Pontiac has in mind for a Miata-priced sports car playing in a market in which GM already has the Corvette. Bottom line: Many within GM, especially Bob Lutz, want the Solstice to happen. But whatever you've read elsewhere, it's not approved for production--yet.

Worlds fastest volkswagen. Although finished in time for a 1/8th mile bash at the Easter 2001 Jamboree, it wasn’t until November of the same year that Rod had the opportunity to complete a full-power ¼-mile run. And what a run it was! He literally blew the world record to smithereens with an incredible 8.96 @ 155.89 mph, launching out of the hole with the front wheels riding the air all the way through first gear. Second gear came in 1.36 seconds, third was pulled at 3.19 seconds and top gear in just 4.49 seconds, with each data-logged shift taking just 11/100ths of a second! In the process, the VW achieved the 0-100kmh run in an incredible 1.92 seconds on its way to 200kmh in just 5.4 seconds http://www.hpcoatings.com/fastest_vw.htm

August 14 - 2005 Chrysler 300C SRT-8 Chrysler has put a special 425 hp version of their Hemi motor in the Chrysler 300C. The 425 hp number is shared with the legendary 426 Hemi that carried that same rating from 1964-1970. Kudos to Chrysler for this homage to their impressive heritage.

300
It’s a number that made a name for Chrysler in the mid Fifties. Back then, Mopar performance was alpha-numeric. The fleetest of the fleet – the big, 300 series coupes - were badged with sequential letters and backed by serious hardware. In 1956, a 300b “letter car” was the first to pack one horsepower per cubic inch – an early milestone, in the upcoming horsepower wars. And so it went, through 1965, when lettered versions of the 300 series disappeared.

Couldn't agree more.....don't mess with perfection Ron.....Natural is as Natural looks.....maybe just a smidgeon of well rubbed in bees-wax and a hard buff......keep your eyes open, I think you may have started a trend in the Customizing Kingdom.....stick a Patent on it quick.....I foresee Millions here.....and to think we all knew you when you had nothing.... ;D ;D

Unfortunately he sold it a few months before i finally got my License. :'(
Luckily, most of his 8 brothers had muscle cars so i didn't have to go without for too long. :P ;) 8)

Before that one I had Mercury Sable, and it was a good car to but nowhere near the Volvo.. We have great cars here in Europe. 8) :) I'm thinking of buying BMW Z3 now..

U got that right! ;D
Should start a new thread on this but since it's related, ;)
What is maximum speed u have ever experienced in a vehicle?
For me it's 160 mph. in a 1967 Camaro owned by a childhood friend, built for oval track racing, buzzing down a concession road at about 4:00 in the morning, 30yrs. ago.... I remember it like it was yesterday. 8)

By speedometer, 135mph. In my 1970 Z28. If it had been geared differently, sky is the limit. It would get the biggest part of that in a quarter mile.
I did worry about those "maypop" tires back then. :D

Did that one have the 35 gallon gas tank or was that the fastback? (You needed a big tank!)
