Registry Explained

Does anyone know of a good web site that explains in the registry in general terms? Such as what the different sections are for, what different keys do, etc. The reason I ask is when running a registry cleaner, it flags certain keys as safe to remove. I would just like to be more knowledgeable on the subject without just having to assume my registry cleaner (JV16) is infallible. Thanks for any help. :)
