Not sure if I know Sassy or not. The nick seems familiar but not sure I've seen her posts here or elsewhere. But that doesn't really matter. She's a fellow human being and we're called to love one another. So my prayers to Sassy and Dr. Nick and the unborn children. I mean that literally. They will be in my nightly prayer petitions when I retire shortly. God's healing graces and blessings to all who are suffering!

More Good News about Marissa (Sassy Girl) from Nick.

Posted - Sunday July 4th 2004, 10:09 AM ET.

-{ Quote: "Good morning all - another quick update

Marissia is holding her own at this time. There were a couple of rough moments through the night and at one point she needed to be ventilated again. However, she is again off the respirator and breathing on her own. She has not yet woken up but is beginning to show signs she is trying. Her condition is still listed as critical but I am anticipating an upgrading to fair very soon. Please keep praying. Thank you

Hi all; I post in Security Updates here at Wilders but spend alot of time on Subratam's. Here is an update from husband Nick today at 1:55:

"I can finally share some hopeful and good news.
Marissia woke up earlier today for a short time and gave us several big beautiful smiles before going back to sleep. At this time, she has not awakened again but does appear to be in a normal sleeping rythmn. She did not speak to us and appeared to be a little confused as to her surroundings but she did nod her head when asked questions. She is moving all limbs and we are confident there is no paralysis, temporary or permanent. Her vital signs are all stable and improving each and every hour. Her condition has been upgraded to fair at this point, with a cautionary note from her neurologist that she is still prone to suffering seizures from the trauma to the brain. He feels certain at this point, however, if she makes it through the next 12 hours without any unusual brain activity she will be on her way to full recovery.

We have received the biopsy results and all reports indicate there are no active cancer cells, so further treatment for her will consist of only enough radiation necessary to destroy the remains of the brain tumor that were not able to be safely removed.

Thank you again for all your wonderful support. If I can impose just a little more, please keep praying for just awhile longer - until she is sitting up and being her usual “Sassy” self. I am confident we will have her back very soon.
Nick"

Thanks to all from many forums who tuned in to our Sassy's plight and sent all the good prayer vibes to help her survive!

New Update on Sassy ...

Posted 930PM ET from Miko - One of Sassy's Brothers

-{ Quote: "To all of the people

My name is Miko and I am but one of Marissia’s older brothers. I asked Dr. Nick to allow me to come and make the update to you this time. If Marissia continues to improve it will be necessary for me to leave tomorrow and I would like to take this opportunity to say a few words to all of you. I am part of the same medical team Dr. Nick oversees and one of us needs to go and of course, it is better for him to stay with his wife.

Marissia is now awake and talking. She is still somewhat confused but does know where she is and that she has had surgery. Our mother has told her about her babies, that they have gone to be with “Uncle Petri” who is another brother we lost a few years ago . Marissia did not seem to absorb this, saying that was totally impossible. The more she is awake, the more focused she will become and the more she will be able to understand. At this time, she has forgotten she knows how to speak some English and is talking only in Greek, a hard time for Dr. Nick as he speaks only a little. But they are managing fine. We are all ready and prepared to help her deal with her grief. Her vital signs are still stable although there has been some abnormal brain waves in the last two hours. Her neurologist feels this is normal for the amount of trauma she has undergone and is not unduly concerned, however, is holding off upgrading her condition until later tonight. I told this earlier in chat and will tell it again now. The significance of Marissia smiling so brightly when she first awoke was very important to her family. The Greeks have a belief and a saying - “Who the Gods will destroy they make angry first” - so when we saw her first response was a smile, we knew she would come back to us.

Some of you know something about my little sister but for those who are new to her I would like to tell you a little bit. She is a very young 21 years. She was raised in a small village in the Greek Isles where she attended a convent school. Until marrying Dr. Nick she had never been anywhere or knew much of the world outside her small village. So she is very much the innocent, very simple in her thoughts and very naïve. However, she is also terribly smart and has a burning desire to always learn something new. She is also very good natured and loving and lots of fun to be with. She is wonderfully kind and has not a single mean bone in her little body. She is just a little tiny thing, well under 5 feet and is absolutely beautiful in both looks and spirit. She has big blue eyes and a smile to melt your heart. Every time I see her I just want to pick her up and hug her, she has that kind of effect even on a brother. I am telling you this so you have a picture of the person you have been praying for. And I ask your forgiveness if I appear to be bragging, I am guilty as I am so proud of my little sister. She has fought a very big battle these last days and has more still ahead of her.

Oh behalf of my family, I would give to you our sincerest appreciation for the prayers, love, support and attention you have given to Marissia. My parents are simply overcome at the responses you have made. Although they will return to Greece with the heaviest of hearts for having lost their special grandchildren, they will go knowing their little girl is making a good life for herself away from them. Along with the prayers and love you have give to Marissia, you have given hope and reassurance to the rest of her family.

We will be eternally grateful and all of you will forever be in our hearts and our prayers that God will always be loving to you and your loved ones.

Miko and the Zaresakos family" }-

We have been reading your posts and she is so happy and cannot wait to come back and make one herself. I remember joining Wilder's, thinking with this name it would have to be a special and magical place, and so it is. Mainly because of the special, magical, wonderful people who are "Wilder's". People who still care, cry, try and pray for another human being as if they were their family, and I guess, Sassy is. We are family, the human family. The outpouring of emotion to Sassy and her family, there was no way she would not pull through. Her little angels will be back. I join my prayers and love with all. Sassy, BE WELL.

Wanted to let all of you know Marissia is doing very well. She was moved out of the CCU last evening into a regular room and had a very restful night. Today she will begin to eat solid food again which should improve both her strength and spirits. Later today I have promised her she can come here for a short bit and I will type a little response to all of you from her as she is quite anxious to do this. We have been reading the posts to her and she is so overwhelmed by it all. She is a perfect example of the power of prayer and we so sincerely thank all of you for your beliefs. And a special note to Chris: we read your post last evening and Marissia immediately insisted we all say a special "blessings" (her word for prayer) for your uncle. We hope he will receive the same benefits from our prayers that she has from yours. Thank you all again.

Update ....

Sassy's First post from the Hospital.

Jul 6 2004, 12:31 PM

-{ Quote: " Hi everybody, this is Sassy.

Finally, Nick say I can come to here and say some words to all of you. I am waiting too very long to do this because I am missing too much to come back to here and be with all of you.

Nick and Miko are reading to me all the many postings you do here. I am just too much happy to hear all of them and will take me a very long time to read every single one and look at all the beautiful pictures you make to me and my babies here. But I will read every single one and tell you later what good words I am having for them, so please to just be the little patience with me, yes?

But now, I want to say there words to you. When I go from here, I am thinking in my mind, maybe I am no coming back here again. And I am too very sad about this because I am really loving to make my new friends, learn the English and get the smarts all about spy ware. Oh, and make the funny postings too, that is what I am really good at, you know? Subratam, he make to me the Expert Member, for making the most funny postings. But now I am back here, and I am too very happy to be here with all of you once again.
Right now I am just feeling a little good but soon I will be feeling the really good and will be to here all the time.

I want to say to you these words from my heart. I am knowing it is because of all your prayers I am with you today. I am knowing God and I am knowing for sure He listened to every single one of your prayers and He want me to stay here with you because you are all so loving to me. It is very sad to my heart, that our babies are now with God and it make me to cry sometimes. But I am loving too much that you all say all the many prayers for them and you know they are now God’s little angels and are watching to me and Nick every moment of the day. I have only lived just 21 years now and I am learning some very hard life lessons but all of you are making my learning these lessons too much easy with your love and your friendship and I am wanting to tell everyone of you this. I am thanking all of you with my heart for helping Nick and I to live with our sadness. You have been too very kind to us and always we will know and remember this to our hearts. If ever you have a sad life lesson you learn in your life, I would like you to tell to us and we will give to you this same love and friendship. In Greece, we have the saying, Surely as the sun rises in the morning, it sets at night. This means to us all is in the power of God, and what you do during the day will come back to you in the night when you lay your head to rest. So if you do good during the day, the good will follow you to the sleep. And this is what all of you are about to me. You do the good all the day and the good comes back to you all the time. Is why you are all the good peoples here.

I will come back again soon when I am feeling too very good and we will make some real good funny postings! I love and miss you all too very much
