View Full Version : Time to say farewell

FanJ

It has been such a great privilege to have been here from the start.
From the time we (Paul, Pete, and me) started this board at EZ-board (well, to be fair: the Wilders-board existed before that for quite some time!).
Very soon Paul-ZX joined us !
And Root, and John, and so many other great friends !!!!!
The board happily grew :)
Other moderators and admins joined us !!! :D
Changes were made to other Hosts.
Dedicated forums were added; some were lost for different reasons.
Lots and lots of new members joined in :D

Maybe now the time has come to say farewell.
I am very well aware that I made many mistakes.
And far more important: I hurted so many dear friends.
You don't know how much I regret that

Almost a week before my 53-birthday, I think it is better to leave
Please take care of my buddy Blaze
Please take care of yourself
Thanks to all of you for all your love and friendship

Nah, it's not time to leave yet. The music has stopped playing and there's still a lot more yet to do. :)

So, just take a break and come back in a few days.

Pixel and I, along with everyone else, will still be here.

We need your help and experience here. Don't let the turkeys get you down. >:(

It's hard to soar with eagles when you work with a bunch of turkeys.

Besides, only you can handle Mr Blaze.

Yes FJ, there is still a lot more in you, just dig a little deeper, and if all else fails, take a look at my signature ;)

FanJ....Jan.... Friend..... :)

From the very first moment I joined the board, you, along with others, welcomed me and gave sound advice for which I am truly grateful. ;)

It has been a pleasure "doing business" with you via the ethernet and I have learnt a lot from you.

I cannot comment on your reasons for leaving, suffice to say they are your own, but I hopefully live in anticipation that you will reconsider as your valuable input into this board is highly desirable by many, many people here.

Your contributions in many of the sticky threads giving tips, configurations, etc. of various apps has proved not insignificant to helping people with various programs to get the full benefit out of them.

Ultimately, whatever your choice, I wish you well and as we say in Oz:

"Catch ya later mate!" :)

Cheers, TAS/Adrian

Jan, don't just leave like that, there's still lots of things you can contribute to Wilders security forums. I think that every member, moderator, admin, including retired people is very important to these forums. I would never ever leave this website, because there is so much to be learnt and taught. In my whole life, I have never come across a website like this, where people are friendly, you get to widen your knowledge on computers and spyware, and you also get to know each other better and at the same time have fun. Whatever I can contribute, I will contribute. Jan, if you want to really leave, you can leave, because it is your own decision, but, at least take that special effort to come back and contribute to these forums.

Without everybody's efforts, Wilders Security Forums would not be what it is today.

Have to respect your decissions, but i do hope you're open for re-considerations.
So who's going to tell about details and creating sticky threads and screenshots in them?
Working as a team honestly said hoping for / counting on you.
You might like your time to fly through your house a bit preparing your birthday, can we hope for a return when you finished blowing all those 53 candles?
5+3=8 and 8 is the number of new opportunities etc. among others.

Jan :'( You will be greatly missed here, you have been a pillar of strength and your knowledge sharing talent is second to none, so please do not completely desert us.
As a mere youngster of 53 you still have a lot to offer both old and new users, see you around soon I hope! ;D

Having been a member at only a few sites I still understand the closeness one can get when it comes to posting our words. As much as I enjoy assisting at a few Forums....I have had to take a break periodically because I do get deeply involved and forget that the WWW is nothing but a bunch of 1's and 0's.

These communities you've been involved in are better off because of your presence....whether it be in the past tense or future tense. Good luck in your final choice.

Hi Fanj,

all the people agree here that you are a GREAT BENEFIT to this forum, not only in terms of knowledge and technical abilities but also (and most importantly) as a warm and friendly presence. I, like everyone else, DO hope you will reconsider!!!

Hi Jan !!!

A little angel told me of this thread and she is right! You contribute many good things to the forum, not least of which is the sense of belonging that you instill in people. I know you are dealing with some health issues and I know that things can be very discouraging at times but know that you are well liked and respected here and anytime you choose to be here you are among friends.

Take good care and come back soon :)

Warm Regards,

Dan

Jan,

Life is a journey
through hardships and pain
there are sorrows a lot
there are also lots to gain

on the way of life
we meet people new
I pray everyone meet once
a person like you

Jan, you know yourself
how much we love you
selfish, evil and wicked are many
"someone" like you are very few

I write this behalf of all
do NOT leave us mate
we will all need you to guide us
in a world where its easy to hate

please do NOT take decisions
that you know will hurt you too
give your brain a chance to say
and then what heart says to do

write for you?
and when you say you will leave.
a simple line may say something...
you encourage us to live

do not.. please do not leave
you see how these people are sad
you know better than us
we all have times good and bad

I will at last leave on you
any decision you want to take
we will say.. do not leave us..
maybe take a break?

Regards... and love

Sub and.. Pri...

FanJ, I don't know you all that well but I only hold you in the highest regards. I have seen you all over this site and always looked forward to your input. Please don't leave us. You are most welcome here and I am sure I speak for most everyone when I say that it would be a great loss to us all. Spoken as a true friend.

Hoi Jan,

heb per toeval deze thread gevonden - maak een kleine pauze en kom terug !

The true friends who we meet online
Are a very special kind ...
They pierce your shields and see within
The corners of your mind.

They're always there when you're in need
With their power to discern;
They feel your pain, they offer hope
And genuine concern.

We bare our souls, expose our hearts,
And show our inner fears;
And then before you know it ...
The keyboard's stained with tears.

And if we could see them through that screen,
Then no one could deny ...
That to be a TRUE online friend,
They too must surely cry.

Hope to see you soon again :)

Jan, although I'm a relative noob here, I've seen many of your posts and have always appreciated your calm, supportive and rational demeanor. I also realize that you're currently dealing with some major health issues. Such things can really make one feel separated from those people and activities that once gave one a lot of joy, love and satisfaction. Forgive me if you think I'm trying to judge without much knowledge but I too will turn 53 next month. I've seen births and deaths (some good, some not so good!) and a lot of the joy and sorrow that encompasses that period of time between the two. IMHO, the span between nave and grave is simply a training ground. We're learning what we need to learn before we leave this veil of tears to be reunited with our God! That entails joy and sorrow, good times and bad, elation and suffering. It's learning that one can't appreciate and value one without the other!

Well, it seems I'm waxing philosophical here......hope you don't think I'm just trying to blow smoke!

Anyway, to you I wish blessings and God's peace. Whatever decisions you make, whether to stay at Wilders or to leave or whatever other paths you may take, may those decisions and choices bring you peace, happiness and fulfillment. Pax!
