Was wondering if someone could please tell me if there is a way to disable the pop-up (splash) screen each time Windows XP starts.

Change the shortcut to: Nod32CC = "C:\Program Files\Eset\nod32cc.exe" -DONTSHOW

I use NOD32 with XP. (Wow! What a surprise!) :)
I recomend leaving the splash screen alone. While it's showing, NOD32 is checking out itself and the metric buttload of other stuff XP loads on startup. When the splash screen disappears, the job is completed.
This has never happened to me, but I've had a couple of reports that hitting a key or clicking the mouse while NOD32 is doing its thing can cause major system lockups. At least with the splash screen visible you know when the coast is clear.
Having said that, I read somewhere (can't remember where) that you can kill off the splash screen with a registry fiddle. I wouldn't ... but it's up to you.

Welcome, Rod!
Nice seeing you again. For those who don't know: Rod is Eset/NOD32 Australia. Small world, isn't it?)
regards.

Thank's for the prompt reply Pieter. I had tried -NOPOPUP and _NOSPLASH.
In respect for Rod's post, I think I'll just leave things as they are. No sense in getting something "messed up" while NOD is starting up.
Thank's to everyone for the prompt responses.

I agree with Rod! Leave splash screen to do its job. If you don't like it, just turn your head somewhere else! ;D
Its only takes a few seconds!

I'm well aware of Rod, though we have never spoken I know him from alt.comp.virus and a.c.antivirus, he's like an old friend to me,I enjoy his postings in the groups (despite the sometimes weird mix of people that inhabit the groups) :)
