Spyware Blaster wont install- help please

When i install spyware blaster 3.1, at the end of the install i get an error message: "This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the harddrive or a virus. Please reinstall it." I have run norton 2004 latest update, closed all program and try to reinstall. Nothing. same error message. then i try to install in safe mode, that wont work either, i get the same error message. How can i successfully install this program. I hear great reviews... but i cant get it installed. I'm running windows xp. i have all updates for windows installed. please advise.

Hi Mark,

This error is being caused on systems that had a previous spyware infection on them. There is a lot of information in this thread about it, including a lot of user found fixes:

Please note that these fixes are sometimes fairly complex, so if you aren't comfortable following them, you shouldn't attempt them. Javacool is hoping to provide automated fixes to this issue in the next version of SpywareBlaster.
