AdAware detects this intruder every time I run AdAware. I understand it's a parasite. How can I get it off my machine ???

Hello Frangord !
Welcome to Wilders ! :)
MarketScore aka Netsetter indeed is parasite which claims to increase the speed of your internet connection. It runs at startup to ensure all your web connections are routed through NetSetter's proxies.
In order to remove you need to run a hidden uninstall feature. Open a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs->Accessories) and enter
For Windows 95/98/Me:
"%WinDir%\SYSTEM\NSCheck.exe" /uninstall
Note : Windir mean your windows directory like c:\windows.
Or
For Windows NT/2000/XP just:
NSCheck /uninstall
More Read on here : http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/M/MarketScore.asp
Hope, it helps !
With Thanks !

{QUOTE-> Thanks so much for your response. Following your directions, when I type the info into my C:prompt, I get this:
"NSCheck is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"
I have a beginner-to-intermediate knowledge of computer use. My OS is XP (Home). I don't know what to do now. I would appreciate any further suggestion/instructions you would be willing to give me. Would you send them directly to my e-mail -- Frangord1@mn.rr.com ? Thank you so very much.

Fran, Please proceed in this way..
On the Start menu, use Find, or Search, and search for NSCheck.Exe on your local hard drives. Next, point to Start, click Run, and type :
full path of the file/NSCheck/uninstall and Press Enter. For instances,
C:/system/nscheck/uninstall and press enter
Or
Drag NSCheck.Exe from the Find or Search box into the Run box before /Uninstall and click OK.
Or
At an MS-DOS prompt go to root directory by typing Cd \ and press enter, and then type:
cd < full path of file>/NSCheck/Uninstall and Press Enter.
Hope it helps !
With Thanks !

I have attempted all suggestions, but my Search (including searching everything that is an option in 'Search') finds nothing. I attempted to do a RUN NSCHECK.Exe and get a message that it can't be found. I did another AdAware run, and MarketScore still appears as RegKey. Each time I quarantine it, then rmove it, but it repeatedly comes back. Since my computer can't find it, I don't know what the full path is. Could this be a problem with/in AdAware? I seem to be going in circles.

Hello Fran,
This may happen that file is hidden so first unhide the files using following instructions...
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2002092715262339?Open&src=ent&docid=2002092514302348&nsf=ent-security.nsf&view=docid&dtype=corp&prod=Symantec%20AntiVirus%20Corporate%20Edition&ver=8.x&osv=&osv_lvl=
And then Search and follow the instructions as mentioned in the last post.
With Thanks !
