Using a socket tool such as Port Explorer (http://www.diamondcs.com.au/portexplorer/) you can right-click on a port and choose to close it, but usually the best way to close a port is by stopping the program that uses that port (Port Explorer will easily show you which process it is). You can also use a personal firewall to restrict access to that port.
