Hi i have JAP and Firefox browser but i noticed when i go to www.grc.com i am getting my real ip address not the one i should be getting while using JAP. Anyone else have this problem? Would you test it out if your using JAP? Every other ip test i do i get the JAP ip that your supposed to get while using this anonymous proxy. Here are some other ip test sites: www.whatismyipaddress.net www.electronicprivacy.com http://stealthtests.lockdowncorp.com

The PortAuthority probe from GRC uses an https connection to establish a proxy-avoiding SSL secured connection. (The Port Authority system automatically verifies the connection's non-proxied status.)
That's why that particular port probe bypasses JAP. HTH Pete

Thanks for your reply Spy1. So does that mean other sites could do this and render JAP useless for true privacy while online?

Yes, and quite a few do.
Set your firewall to alert you when anything tries to connect to port 443, then you can click to allow or deny depending on the site. Having to click every time to allow can be tiresome if you actually need a secure connection for banking or shopping, so set up a rule that you can turn on and off as you need it.

I'd imagine that watching your address bar for the https would tip you off - of course, you'd already be there, then.
Depending on your browser/browser settings, you might be able to hover your cursor on a link and have the address displayed before you click on it. Pete
