I searched my comp and my granddaughters comp Mine xp hers 98se and I googled and a few other searches and could find no reference to the file you mention. It is probably a file to a piece of software you have installed that I don't is why it didn't show on my two comps. But I didn't find reference on google. that might make it hard to find. You might look in your running process and see if you can find where it is on your comp. Control/alt/del/process in xp.

I finally found the file but it was by accident. I was searching through the registry for something else and stumbled across it. I still have no idea what it is,but I have no malware or viruses so it isn't evil as much as I can tell. I am just going to leave it there as it seems it isn't doing anything. ???

A little new info. the kb files seem to be knowledge base files.

sounds like a process /application is "hanging" try this

start > run > regedit click "ok"

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\control panel\desktop

double click the entry 2 change the value as i have them here

AutoEndTasks = 1

HungAppTimeout = 4000

WaitToKillAppTimeout = 4000

restart for changes to take effect

good luck :D
