Do you use an antivirus for your mobile phone and, if so, why? Also state which antivirus program you use, if any. Multiple choice voting.
EDIT- 1. I did not put this in the poll but also please state whether you use your antivirus for on demand scanning only or real time.
2. Under the lightweight option I also mean if you choose your phone because of its quick scanning feature.

With high-end dual-core smart phones, scanning times are commonly less than a minute.
But light in terms of a performance effect on battery life is much more important.
At the present time, I am only using an on-demand scanner to check downloaded apps.

I'm currently going the "on demand" route with Dr. Web on my phone.

I don't use any AV on my phone.
Why? Because it's a basic phone (XpressMusic 5310) and even if i had the latest one i wouldn't install one anyways. Phones are gadgets for me, not serious business (At least that's how i consider them now) ;D

for a free suite I think webroot is probably the one I would try again / it had a false positive which was never rectified which caused me to stop using it previously, but overall it's not bad

Used to use only nokia phones and never used an anti-virus. I never installed apps or anything and only used it as a basic telephone so never felt the need for one.
Recently switched to an android phone which came with a free 1 year subscription for f-secure's mobile security app. I've been indulging in a lot of apps since switching phones so having an anti-virus seems like a good idea.

I also have a dumb phone and don't need one. I have no interst in smartphones at all.
Funny, if our dumb phones don't require an AV and are inherently more secure than smartphones, then I guess there not so dumb afterall are they? :)
