Please forgive me if this question has been answered previously but I cannot
see anything relating to it.
I decided to take the plunge and migrate to ESS 5(rc) from ESS 4, following
instructions for uninstall/reinstall. Installation was trouble free and everything
seems fine and dandy but with ESS 4, I was used to seeing the ESS blue ball
in the startup tray revolving at startup and after a virus signature update and
now with ESS 5 it does not!
I have vers.5.0.84.0 and virus signature base is 6376 (20110814) and I have
scheduled task details as follows;
automatic startup check, system startup file check, task to run after
successful update of virus signature database and files run after user logon.
Would be grateful for any help and advice.

Hello.

The start-up scan is still there, but in V5 it is delayed a little until the system becomes idle, and then the start-up scan takes place. Probably 1-3 min later.

The startup scan is delayed until CPU calm down.

Many thanks SweX and toxinon for your prompt and informative replies.

I was just a little concerned that my scheduled task settings were wrong but I
will keep an eye on the 'little blue ball' and hopefully I may see it revolve
sometime!

I was very happy with V4 and I'm sure that fairly soon I'll be able to say the
same about V5.

Many thanks guys.
