Is there a way to see if on the PC there are corrupted files?

I have this need because, after that the light went out, I want to be sure that on my PC no file was corrupted

If you are on Windows, insert your OS CD/DVD into your CD/DVD drive and type sfc /scannow in the run box.

I am on Windows XP SP3
But does this way take into account all the Windows updates since first installation?

Edit: It seems updated system files can be checked for. http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

Hi,

As you are on Windows XP, you might also be interested in a program called Tiny Watcher (http://kubicle.dcmembers.com/watcher/). It is a good way to maintain the integrity of your system files. I myself didn't know about this wonderful program until I saw this in our esteemed member bellgamin's signature. I installed it and have never had a problem ever since.

The latest version says it supports Vista. I wonder if this is compatible with "7"?
