This never used to happen but now when I try to configure the firewall ESET SS just freezes on me! How do I fix this?

Hello ninelives
There is always the option to put your firewall in learning mode for a while to see if that could fix the problem. Just in case, here is a link where the different firewall modes is explained : http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2118&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1310200661469
Hope it will help you :)

Thanks for the quick reply, but I did have it on learning mode, and I just finished re-installing the whole program.
It is still freezing no matter what mode I put the firewall into. Please help. This is really frustrating me!

Hi ninelives
In Eset database there is a link about computer freezes, it's a long shot : http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2725&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1310201086899
You can also use Msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows, by disabling some of the startup programs one of the time to see if there are one of the startup services there is the reason to your problems.

So far nothing I've tried has worked.
What I've done:
-Reinstalled ESS
-Followed these instructions: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN941
-Waiting for an hour after clicking "Configure rules and zones"
I don't understand!!! I was just using this tool the other day. What happened?

Hi
Have you installed a new program recently? do you have any other security software running? if yes try to uninstall all other security software. (or recently installed program),
and yes it can be like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes.

I just need to know if there is a way to access the file that has to do with configuring the firewall!
There is something wrong with my computer, because it works perfectly fine on my laptop.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello ninelives
If I was you I would contact Eset Customer Care : http://www.eset.com/us/support/contact# it all seems to me that the issue is conflicting software, if that is the case Eset Customer care will guide you through.
Best Regards and take care :)
