Lots of files inside the Prefetch folder is not unusual.
Have you tried dragging it back to its original spot? Or highlighting it and choosing 'Edit-Undo move' if that's an available option?
What's the message you get when you try to delete it?

in no particular order, you could try any of these;
1- try to delete it in safe mode,
2- restore an earlier created image,
3- use a linux live cd/dvd and access to the part of your hdd where the prefetch folder is located at and delete that file w/in linux.

Possibily WinPrefetchView from Nirsoft can help you.

Maybe unlocker (http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/) can help, though not sure.

When I've had similar problems, sometimes for some strange reason it'll let me cut and paste to the desktop then delete from there. Worth a shot.

i used KillBox.exe and did the job
but just a bit afraid it could be malware

CCleaner has an advanced option to clear out older and unused prefetch data.
