Does the ad blocker in Iron block content from being downloaded or just hide ads like the add-ons for Chrome?

I believe that Adblock Plus (and the others) for Chrome does not block the ad from being downloaded to the pc, it just hides the ad in the browser. Adblock Plus for Firefox blocks the content from being downloaded.

Since Iron's adblocker is built in does it block content or hide the ad even though it has been downloaded to the browser cache?

I'm guessing it's the same in Iron as for Adblock Plus on Chrome but wanted verification.

Okay, now that there's a specific one mentioned, it is my belief that most ads are blocked from being downloaded. You can ask over here:
