View Full Version : System Files CRC32 Test looks in Documents and Settings

I'm new to TDS and am probably missing something obvious here, but...
When I start a System Files CRC32 Test (or another test that includes it), TDS looks in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\WINDOWS\system32 (instead of C:\WINDOWS\system32), and so it reports that it can't find the files, such as shell32.dll, that it is looking for.
Any help to get me back on track is appreciated.

Hello Sejong and welcome.
In TDS > Edit files > CRCfiles.txt
open that one and check/edit the proper pathnames in your situation, save and try again.
Maybe you better configure c:\windows\system32\..... to make sure, at least try for a few lines.
And the radius and other files you added there are checked properly?
Please post back how it goes.

Jooske-
Thanks for your suggestion. %WINDIR%\system32 did not work, but C:\WINDOWS\system32 did.
I wonder why the %WINDIR% variable, which resolves to C:\WINDOWS with the SET command, does not work.

Follow-up to my previous post: I wonder where TDS-3 is getting the C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\WINDOWS\system32 path. It sounds like a concatenation of the %USERPROFILE% variable with some other.
Mine is an evaluation version; could that make a difference?

Can't see any reason at the moment; an evaluation TDS should not make any differences in that field.
