Can you watch Youtube videos?

I wanted to watch a Youtube video*, but it gives me an error message saying that a problem has occurred and to try again later. It has been happening for the last couple of hours. In the meantime, I already uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player and the problem still persists. No browser user data is stored; I always delete it. I can access Adobe Flash Player settings page just fine, and flash content will load, so not a problem with Adobe Flash Player itself.

I'm using Chromium. I tried with IE9, but I can't get it to even load Flash... never could. Considering I don't use IE9, I didn't bother to solve it, nor will waste my time with IE9 for that matter.

I wonder if it's a problem with Youtube? I got no extensions, and nothing is being blocked, at all.

It could be a bug with Chromium, and if so, then I'll report it. I'll appreciate any feedback and even ideas on how to get it to work, if not a bug. :)

Btw internet explorer uses an Activex control for flash player. all other browsers use a different flash player plugin.
it may be worth installing the activex flash player plugin for IE9 to see if youtube works with it.

Regarding Flash Player active-x version, I do have it installed. But, ever since I upgraded to IE9, flash content never loads.

All I can think of then is a bug in Chromium... or, some problem with Flash Player settings. I'll check it out... something I should have done already, actually.

It had nothing to do with Flash Player settings, but I did find the source of the problem. I access Youtube using https protocol. When I started to access Youtube using protocol https, I changed my firewall settings to allow access to port 443. By mistake I removed access to port 80, it seems. It's odd, though. Why providing Youtube in protocol https, if it still requires protocol http to display the video? Big change in privacy... ;D

I get that sometimes using Opera, so if there is problem, I load another of several earlier versions of Opera that I have for when that problem occurs, and the clip will play OK. ;)

I get this with embedded videos. Very annoying I have to click "Watch on youtube" all the time.

I can plan YouTube videos on Google chrome 9.0.597.98, Chromeplus 1.6.0.0, Opera 11.01, IE8 with no problem. Maybe it a temporary Server thing, I use to get something like that with Own Age.com

Try turning off hardware acceleration in Flash's settings.

I do appreciate your feedback, but I did find the source of the problem, as mentioned in post #3.

So, basically I relied on the fact that Google Youtube videos were being, in fact, provided in https protocol. It turns out, the videos themselves are fetched from http protocol. I had protocol http blocked in my firewall for the Chromium profile I use to watch Youtube videos, resulting in the videos not loading.

Big privacy improvement by Google! ::)
