I have an increasingly annoying problem that I haven't been able to resolve. At first it only happened occasionaly. Now it occurs quite frequently.

When logging off of Windows XP or when switching between users the screen goes to black/dark gray as though waiting. However, the system freezes and the only solution has been to manually turn off and/or reboot at the CPU.

Does anyone have any experience with this or insight on this problem?

Most grateful for any ideas!

Ha, ha, ha, ha...

I feel your pain, but this is funny! I looked at BigC's first sight at it contained this. (i am quoting them, quoting Microsoft)

+++++++++++++
“With its rock-solid foundation and ground-breaking new features, Windows XP Professional won’t quit working, even when your workday is done.” — Microsoft
(Did they know what they were saying?)
+++++++++++++

sorry, i know that was not very helpful, but hopefully you liked it.

your problem used to happen to me, by the way. I can't tell you why that changed, thats what made me peak at that site.
