It's suppose to be officially released later today.

It's an RC (built 3/3). My understanding is that some sites will grab an RC and pass it off as a final:

Why so soon? Was there a bug in .14?

Is there a problem with fixing an issue ASAP?

For a Beta phase in which they've supposedly knocked out every bug blocking them from release, they sure are hesitating.

There's hundreds of other bugs that didn't make it to the list of hard blockers, but won't get fixed because Mozilla is getting desperate to release Firefox 4. I'm not surprised they're getting cold feet now, tbh.

Hmmm...so is it worth the update or just wait for version4?
(still 3.6.14 at their website now..)

Yeah obviously, It's totally a bad thing... what kind of assumption is that?

I'm asking what the issue is.

If you don't use java (which hopefully many people try to stay away from) then .15 is of no importance to you.

In PR terms, they may end up getting bit in the butt for all of these delays and constant additions to the 3.6 series (I'm not a marketing pro, just an opinion from a longtime, fairly happy FF user). Using Beta 12 myself, I'm finding FF4 to be a better experience than at any point during my use of 3.6. Of course mileage is going to vary person to person. I'm hoping they at least have an RC out soon, lest Microsoft already have IE 9 Final out and Chrome (knowing them) be on Version 20, lol.

3.6.15 is on their update servers at this point. My users are getting prompted to update. I just got finished updating them to 3.6.14 yesterday.

Not Chrome "Cold Breeze" or Chrome 2011? ;D

I'm starting to find these bugs as I continue using the Beta. Specifically, add-on buttons are appearing and vanishing on their own, sometimes only when I restart the browser, sometimes I'll happen to glance up and they're just gone.

Unless you use the JRE a lot and/or experience this problem, it's a virtual non-issue.
You'll have to decide for yourself if you want/need to update because of it.

Personally, I need less than one full hand to count the number of times per year I use Java.

I don't know if skipping an update nullifies being able to get the next one thru the internal updater or not, but I don't think it does.
Perhaps someone knows about that for certain?

Last time I did that it was no problem, it can also go straight from 2.something to the latest stable...

Java, lol. So I gather see nobody's using it and that's why it slipped by during the testing phase of .14 ;)

From what I understand, there's a lot of turmoil in the Add-ons department. Devs were notified of a change in procedure affecting whether their add-ons would be visible or not depending on whether they complied with certain formalities.

Tlu has posted quite a few links on the topic recently.

Perhaps, that is the reason for the appearing or vanishing.

(Yesterday, 20110304, was a day of testing the top 100 add-ons for various criteria.)
