My friend shutdown the computer because she thought the windows update was complete because the windows update shield appeard on the turn off my comptuer button but she didn't see it say that updates are complete. So she shut it down thinking they were. Shes wondering if when she turns it on windows will download what was not gotten yet update wise. Also if it will affect the update shield from appearing again.

Déjà vu. You already posted very similar threads before.

And I found them:

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=285410

And there are more.

May I ask why you keep doing this from time to time?

Hello,

Tell her to check her list of installed updates ("view update history"). Then she can check if all updates were successfully installed or not. If an update was interrupted, it would probably be marked as 'pending' or 'failed'. Your friend can always do a system restore and try the updates again. I've done that in the past just to be safe when the installation of the updates was interupted by a stop (BSOD) error. Any reason why you have posted the same problem multiple times (4-5) for your friend?

Regards,

Mark

I knew if was OK for her but she wanted me to ask a computer forum the question as well after I told her it was OK, just to get your opinion on what happened so she can know what to do and have more then just me giving my opinion/idea. There would be other people to help as well.
