I have to "delete restoration data
and proceed to system boot menu" to correct the computer
from not waking up out of hibernation.

I may be wrong, but since mine is the only answer no one will know!

I was under the impression that when you disabled system restore, then then the restore points just sort of dissappear. There are numerous ways to do that, right click my computer, and go to restore tab. you could also run "services.msc" by hitting start run and typing it in. I could go on. i think that removes them...if not...back to the old drawing board

You are right just turn off sys restore and reboot and all restore points and saved info is gone. You can also click start /my computer/view system information/system restore tab and click the turn off sys restore box and then reboot. but don't forget to repeat the steps and uncheck the turn off sys restore box. ;)
