Looks like a limited time offer for all home users

-{ Quote: "... if you are a Private/Home user - for a limited time we are offering PDF-XChange Lite for FREE - no strings or catches, the only restriction being you must not use for business or commercial use in any way - so now all home users/students have access to a truly robust, 'industrial' strength PDF creation tool, for use with any Windows application - just open a document and 'Print' to PDF-XChange Lite to create your PDF files ! I'm trying it on Windows 7, 32 bit now. I was having trouble with chrome and pdf-xchange viewer which is why I checked the web site for an update and just happened to run across the Lite promo.

It was free in the past. Has they discontinued the free product?

That would be the Viewer, which is still free. Funny though that their product list shows the Viewer as needing 34 bucks for a single user license, yet says free in the description right next to it.

No problem, though now I've got myself wondering why they have a price listed for it, lol. Oversight I assume?

There are two types of Viewers. The freeware with some ads, and the PRO version in which the ads can be turned off.

When I bought my Viewer PRO version, as a bonus I got the PDF-XCHANGE LITE for free.

Ahh, okay, thanks for clearing that up for me. Strangely I don't really see what I'd consider to be ads, though "Ask search" is in there :thumbd:

I tried Lite version to convert 63.0kb/Excel and got 108.9kb/Pdf :thumbd:

then convert it with doPDF (http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/doPDF-Review-162206.shtml) and got only 24.0kb/PDF .Nova PDF (http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/novaPDF-Professional-Desktop-Review-130376.shtml) did as well doPDF. :thumb:
