Asking on behalf of someone else:

As I am only using Opera as my sole browser, is there any benefit to be gained by installing SpywareBlaster?

Well it won't do ANY harm as it uses NO resources :thumb: So if it actually helped to block a nasty at some point, why not install it :)

Along with the Active X blocking, it has a database of bad www's to also block :thumb:

That is only for IE, for Firefox it only has a cookie blacklist and there is no support for other browsers ;)(at least not in current versions)

This is what i was thinking.

Malware gets in even with Opera etc, and installed dodgy AX controls in their comp, which then was able to manipulate IE to call out and then do whatever etc etc. So if those dodgy AX controls had been blocked with SB it would help prevent that.

Actually it has some other features as well that might be of use too.
