Hi im not a programmer :-[ , but I notice a lot of viruses show up in my windows 32. I dont know exactly how an anti virus works. But isnt there somewhere you can put what OS you have, then list all programs your computer uses. Then by the program simply looking thru your folders it could tell you. "yes this file is not part of windows, this file also is not related to any of your other programs installed". By just looking at its name and size? Or is this how antivirus works? I was under the impression when your antivirus is scanning its going thru the code in each file to find Known viruses by how they are written. :-[

Hi Shifty, This is a better place for your question :)
If you read through this forum you will most certainly find your answer as Process Guard does exactly what you describe :) and a lot more.
Anti Virus & Anti Tojans do scan files for viruses, Trojans & other malware but not usually for program changes, some of which are very stealthy and difficult to detect.
Using layered defence is the best approach, as no single program can do it all :)
