I found this file in C:\Users\Public\Downloads and it was dated 14th July 09, at which time think was running W7RC. But installed this OS 32bit W7 start Nov last. I found it in a Norton Beta folder dated August. Anyhow figured all this couldn't be right, so shredded it, think no sign now. Could it have been either a bug jumped from RC to RTM, or was it malware maybe?

I think the desktop.ini files within most user's folders control the folder's icon view and should be hidden by default.
If unsure you can unhide then upload to VT for scan.
The desktop.ini within C:\Users\Public\Downloads here contains:
-{ Quote: "
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21808
" }-

Franklin, thanks for this info :) Will have another check on this. Maybe Norton beta, when installed just caused it to be unhidden, if I understand correctly, thanks.
