hello all,

i was looking at my routers internet sessions and it looks like this

Local NAT Internet Protocol State Dir PriorityTimeout
my lan ip here mypublicip here internet ip TCP/UDP

also shows public
ip in local column
which is the same
as the NAT column
public IP address
(normal or not?)

as you can see in the "local column", it shows my lan ip address which is normal, but i realized that some of the IP addresses in the "Local column" show the Public Ip address also. is this normal?

i thought local meant only the ip address of your LAN network. so why is it showing my public ip address which should be only shown in the "NAT" column?

sorry about the poor thread layout. i guess it doesnt look the same as when your creating the post.

what i mean is that under the Local column, it shows my public ip address as well as my LAN ip address.

isnt Local just suppose to list your LAn ip address?

I don't want to come across the wrong way but there might be another reason besides not knowing the answer that you haven't got any replies in weeks.

especially "Describe, clearly and concisely, how your problem shows itself"

sorry for not explaining clearly. ill try my best to explain what i mean.

in my original post, under the "Local" column, it shows my LAN ip address(private) as well as my WAN ip address(public). i thought under the "Local" column, its suppose to only show your LAN ip address, but for me, it also shows the WAN ip address as well.

and in the "NAT" column, it shows the WAN ip address(public)

are these normal internet sessions?

Where are you seeing this, in the web interface of your router? What brand/firmware does the router have?

Try d link customer service, it's a really specific question and apparently no one here on wilders has seen anything like it.
Good luck :)

hey Katio thx for the suggestion, but I doubt it's a d link problem or if it s problem at all. But I'm just wondering why it also shows a few wan ip addresses in the local column. Thought local only meant LAN ip addreses.

Did you take a look at the picture in post #10?
