Came across this freeware data recovery utility, and thought I would pass it on. (LangaList 8/4/02)

I have not installed it as of yet, as I am soliciting comments from anyone who is familiar with it.

“Here is a little
program that I ran across last week that I think all your
readers might find useful. It is a program called Restoration
. It can recover files even after they have been deleted from
the recycle bin or deleted with the shift+delete method. I
have used this a number of times lately with almost complete
success. I have tested on win2k and winxp and it works well on
both. It was even able to recover files after a defrag. There
is also a feature to completely remove files from the
computer.”

a florensic type of tool such as this may have some useful purpose..........however...please consider.....does a person really want their deleted information so easily recovered??? If this is of no concern....then such a tool could have some value..........it could even be of some value to see if deleted files were actually completely removed

I mean for personal use, not for forensic data recovery. I am well aware that DOD has set standards for killing data. IE: Rewriting x3+. My question is basically this; is this good freeware?

Honestly I really don't use these type programs....have tryed a few in the past for testing purposes....all failed.

Never mind; we're quite loose, not that strict. No apologies needed ;)
