View Full Version : OS X ESET: Beta ending soon?

I noticed that the license for the ESET beta on OS X will terminate at the end of this month, as evidenced by the permanent "warning" state that ESET has taken on.
Is the beta period coming to a close at this point? I'm just curious when/if we'll have a chance to purchase the final retail product for OS X.

I guess so, the business edition is already for sale so I dont see why the normal (home) version isn't out yet.

I too am interested to find out if it is ending soon as my icon has turned orange in anticipation of the licence running out.
I just feel so insecure with an orange icon ;D

I sent an email asking today and there will be a release candidate real soon, so hang on and you won't need a new licence key

After today I only have 5 days left on my beta licence. Is the new release going to be within that time?

Hello,
It is reasonable to assume that when the license for a beta test version of software runs out that it will be released, however, please keep in mind that the license expiration mechanisms for beta test software need to be tested as well.

Well, I can tell you that you got my money when it gets released. Saved me from spreading Windows Malware. I love that idea. :)

Unistallation of the previous version proves impossible. Uninstaller errors out on "Removing Finder Action Scripts". Attempts to remove the software manually have failed thus far. I can't install the new version, because the old version is still detected.

No such problems here. I used the original installer to uninstall, and then installed the new one. No issues at all.
