How safe is it really to use these things? I've thought about it a few times but never pulled the trigger. It seems that you are putting all your trust into these people to protect your passwords for you... from the other people. How do I know they have any more scruples than the people I need protection from?
It's one of those "who's watching the watchers" deals.
"It takes one to catch one" is another phrase that comes to mind... in this situation it applies to keyloggers. In effect aren't they doing exactly what you're trying to prevent on your system? Seems like curing the disease by killing the patient to me.
Or are all my fears completely unfounded?
