Hi! I'm using F-secure 5.42 for Workstation. What do you think about it? I don't like BackWeb. Is there any other way to update computer?

You should be able to download the updates manually from their ftp-server instead of using Backweb (which I personally also don't like :()

Hm, up to version 5.41 you can start an update via the systray symbol or the update-tab in the "main program". There is also an update reminder with variable update period.
No need for Backweb (or the manual ftp-download) at all...

Is all this really not possible in version 5.42 anymore? ???

Yes, it is, but there is no auto updates.

I am also using F-Secure. I think it is pretty good. It detected one trojan that my brother's Mcafee didn't detect last week :)

ftp://ftp.f-secure.com/anti-virus/updates/fsupdate.exe download this auto updater and run it. it's a nice product no doubt but very heavy on the system. so if u don't have a fast system it'll create problems. detection rate is 1st class but in some cases it fails to scan some common archives. also i hate it when it scans Floppy during shutdown. it can't be turned off. the configuration is idiot-proof so its a pain for advanced users.

I don't care. Backweb is cool program. I was just thinking about your opinions.
