Strange Name.

Just Found a Strange file Name:-GDIPFONTCACHEV1 :o

Sent to:-submit@diamondcs.com.au

As Jooske is alway's telling [Asking] us to do.

Found when I was have a good dig about my hidden folder's, after I was done a Uninstall of ZAP to install the latest Verison.

Hi TheQuest, I believe that GDIPFONTCACHEV1.DAT is probably a printer related file, probably Hewlett Packard. I cannot find any reference to malware with regards to this file but I am sure Gavin will give you a definitive answer :)

I have the same kind of file on my system (W 98 SE):
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\GDIPFONTCACHEV1.DAT

I don't think there is something wrong with it.
But indeed: if you don't trust something, it's a good idea to ask Gavin to have a look at it.

Very true, the problem I have is re-learning 60= years of what's in my head and getting the brain to put it back in the right order, voice is all right now, but the brian and body seem to try to go their own diffence way's ;D ;D

And so to see you're doing quite a fine job.
Computers can be a great help in that, playing easy games on them like solitaire -- you might like to try it lefthanded with your mouse if you're normally righthanded as that exercises other brainparts and muscles too.


For the files, could be ZoneAlarm has several files included for some popular printers for instance so a file is there even if not used, but not sure about your file. Did DiamondCS support give any clues already?

guess it's for font cache but i can't really imagine anything really, maybe for the font used for ZA itself? Anyway it's a valid normal file, so no worries on that.

Even your righthanded mouse you can try occasionally with your left hand, it will be less comfortable of course, so trying to move around with it with an innocent game like solitaire is a nice exercise. I have a spare computer here on my left and somehow when i play mahjong on it i prefer it lefthanded with it's onw normal mouse, while i continue my normal things on this computer righthanded with this computer's mouse (yes, occasionally at the same time --splitting concentration a bit :) ) Takes some practise though.

Yeah, and using the phone in between. But ok, then the one gets priority over the other. And trying to keep up with all the current news, vulnerabilities, threats, the forums, etc.
Guess the DiamondCs techs do lots more at a time on much higher level; the more we try to do here, the more they can concentrate on their super high skilled production.
Next generations just get a few chips build-in at birth. :lurking:
