Hello all at Wilders,
I would like to host a website(IDX type) which has personal data of lots of users in the database.
Well I trust the server admin and the hosting company, but as they say, systems can be compromised and data stolen.....
So is there any way I can prevent unauthorized users who have access to the server from getting my database or even the source code of the pages?
I understand that a solution would mean that the server admin would not be able to access those as well(he does not really need to anyway), but there is no way to know way if the person using his login/password is him. The server can be compromised by a hacker as well, which can result in data theft of ALL sites hosted on that server as well.
I assume the solution would have something to do with installing a password protected VM on the server and running the site from within it, but can someone provide very specific information regarding this?
Please share your knowledge.
