It is an arcade game developed by Namco and licensed for distribution in the U.S. by Midway, first released in Japan on May 22, 1980.

Very popular arcade game,I myself played it years ago :thumb:

Not just an image, double click and the game loads.

Pac-Man is the world's most recognized game. Saying 'what is Pac-Man', is similar to saying, 'what's a computer?'. ;)

Interesting fact, I never knew lol

-{ Quote: "For the North American market, the name was changed from Puck Man to Pac-Man, as it was thought that vandals would be likely to change the P in "puck" to an F, forming a common expletive.[33] Puck Man machines can be found throughout Europe.

When Midway released Pac-Man in the United States, the company also redesigned the cabinet's artwork, as the Namco-style artwork was more costly to mass-produce. Puck Man was painted overall white featuring multicolored artwork on both sides with cheerful Pac-Man characters in different poses while Pac-Man was painted yellow, with simple artwork on both sides front and back." }-

On the google home page, click 'insert coin' twice, and it turns into Ms Pac-Man. That brings back memories.

Hey Saraceno, be careful, I can be a real naughty guy if provoked and am quite capable of replying to your analogy.

I DO know what a computer is, probably better than you do having worked on them for many years, but do not spend my time playing around with silly video games. I leave that to the kiddie-winkles and mindless adolescents.
My time is spent on more productive and intelligent pursuits.

OK, I now know what PAC-MAN is, but it has`nt improved my life one jot but I do appreciate Google`s policy of fun for all. I think this latest Googlie is terrific and certainly cannot knock it. It is nice to insert a bit of fun into our lives, even if it is aimed at the under 50`s.

Best wishes

John, you didn't see the 'wink' face at the end of the sentence. :P ;D

I had this game on the old Atari 2600. What a great unit that was at the time. Sold it at a garage sale almost 20 years ago, regret it ever since!

Pac-Man, then came Sonic the Hedgehog. Nothing will top sonic the hedgehog, not even counter strike. lol Games aren't silly, find the right one that suits your needs, and it's relaxing. Nothing beats firing up counter strike, blowing two guys apart (who have logged in, in your country) with a grenade as they come around the corner, and then typing to them how much you enjoyed waiting for them and throwing 'that nade'. lol
