Questions:

Is Chromium different from Google Chrome?

Do Google Chrome extensions work with Chromium?

Why are they hopping and skipping over version numbers? :)

You're correct, they haven't released 5, however a beta of v6 is already available:

It's not clear there's anything substantial to justify full version number increases.

It's actually on Dev channel, So it's more Alpha then Beta...
